A visit to Scotland has to be leisurely if its many facets are to be appreciated to the full. One needs to be alert to moments of breath-catching wonder. A perfectly calm loch, winter light striking through the forest, making eye contact with a wild creature, a sweep of heather, the wild beauty of the coastline, quiet walks in pure sweet air, the wonderland of a snowbound forest and so much more - Paradise indeed, except for the midge and his little friends.
